The UTMB CCC is a 100km ultra mountain race with over 6000m of elevation. The climbs are brutal with no easy trails apart from some village crossings. Starting in Italy and passing through Switzerland and France the scenery is spectacular, with the support and atmosphere around the event making this race a bucket list experience for mountain runners and endurance athletes. Traditions have to start somewhere. For the first of many club outings, we ventured to the peak district, guiding a group around Edale Valley, Taking in Kinder Scout, Jacobs Ladder and Mam Tor before a well deserved pub lunch.
